Well, the story behind "Jassi" is a bit complex. To start-that's not even my real name! My government ID states my name as Jaswinder Kaur but, it seemed too long and difficult to pronounce for many, so I shortened it. How'd I do?
Currently, I'm a UX/UI researcher and designer based in the DMV area. I got my diploma from the BrainStation UX Design bootcamp in 2024. Through this course, I've gained valuable insights into structuring problems effectively and implementing creative ideation methods in my problem-solving approach. These practices not only benefit me throughout this program but also lay a solid foundation for my future career in UX. Additionally, I've acquired proficiency in using Figma, an industry-standard tool essential for UX/UI designers worldwide.
I previously graduated with my master's degree in forensic Investigations. I know-a complete 180! However, my forensics background played a huge supporting role in my UX journey. The skills honed in forensic investigations, such as attention to detail, critical analysis, and pattern recognition, have proven invaluable in understanding user behavior and identifying underlying issues in UX design. Drawing upon my experience, I approach UX problems with a systematic and thorough mindset, ensuring that solutions are not only user-friendly but also robust and reliable.
I absolutely love UX design. It's not just a profession for me; it's a passion. I find immense joy in the process of understanding user needs, solving complex problems, and creating seamless experiences. Every project presents a new challenge to tackle, and the opportunity to blend creativity with analytical thinking fuels my enthusiasm. The feeling of seeing users interact positively with a design I've crafted is incredibly rewarding.
